We are back for another weekly recap with some Vines and Pines. Giancarlo Stanton and Chris Sale continue to do what they do best, and more prospects are on the way to make an impact on your fantasy teams. Joey Gallo and Carlos Correa both hit the long ball this week, and Byron Baxton and Francisco Lindor are on their way up for this week. They are both waiver wire worthy adds, go grab them and come back!
Giancarlo Stanton Leads The HR Way
It is a two-person race for the home run crown right now, with Stanton and Bryce Harper. Stanton took the lead this week, with his 23rd home run of the season, and fifth in the last seven days. His .353 ISO is second in the majors, and he also leads the league in RBI. Stanton owners have had plenty to cheer about this season, as he is on pace for close to 60 HR and 150 RBI.
Strikeout King Of Chicago
Chris Sale is about to hit double-digit strikeouts for the sixth time in the last seven starts. He racked up 14 against Houston this week, and is looking to grab around 25 for those in weekly head-to-head leagues. His strikeout rate is climbing everyday, and just looks to have the mindset of nobody can touch him, which really nobody can right now. He has over 100 strikeouts on the season, and is an elite hurler, doing elite things.
Carlos Correa – That Was Quick
The year of the prospect continues, and Correa packed a two homer week in his debut to the fantasy world. He was a dynasty league gem, and a yearly league stash for many, and is making owners proud early. This Houston team is filled with youth, and they continue to produce.
Raise Your Hand If Your Fantasy Pitcher Threw A No-No
Chris Heston has been popular on this site, and a popular streaming pitcher this season. He has six wins, and has pitched pretty well this season for the injury plagued rotation of the Giants. He threw a no-hitter against the Mets on Tuesday, and fanned 11 bats. A very impressive effort for the rookie, and he will probably be a popular add over the next few days in your leagues.
Defensive Play Of The Week
We are usually focused on the sexy home runs and strikeouts, but Billy Burns was out there patrolling centerfield like a boss. There were a handful of centerfield plays this week, but lets show Billy some love.
