Shortstop Notables
Troy Tulowitzki (Colorado Rockies). If you could guarantee that Tulowitzki would stay healthy enough to receive at least 500 at-bats, I’d be the first person to sign up to take him in the first round. However, staying healthy is a skill that the talented Tulo just can’t master. Smart owners will pass 10 times out of 10 at his current draft price and opt for a safer but still productive roster cornerstone.
Brad Miller (Seattle Mariners). The Mariners waged a position battle for the starting shortstop role this spring, but the situation resolved itself when Chris Taylor suffered a fractured wrist. Miller has the ability to give fantasy owners Jhonny Peralta production with more stolen-base upside. He’s worth slotting into the lineup at the MI position to see if he can get hot early and run with the job.
