Pitchers:
Tyler Duffey – SP – Twins – ESPN: 22% – Y! 10%
Tyler Duffey has been incredibly serviceable for the Twins since being called up. Outside of his first start against the Blue Jays, he has only allowed more than two runs once. Take out that start he has a 2.06 ERA, on a 2.57 FIP. He has an 8.6 K/9, and has been very impressive. He will continue to get starts for the rest of the season.
Rich Hill – SP – Mets – ESPN: 13% – Y! 5%
I have been shocked by Rich Hill so far this season, well his two starts. The long time lefty has been an average arm in the majors, but all of a sudden he has 20 strikeouts through two starts. The teams he has dominated is what is really impressive with the Rays and Blue Jays. Hill has dominated both starts, with an 11.1% swinging strike rate. With the roll he is on, he should have two starts left.
Hitters
Ketel Marte – SS – Mariners – ESPN: 9% – Y! 4%
Ketel Marte is not going to light up the world in home runs and RBI, but he is a solid source of OBP, runs, and stolen bases. He has five two-hit hames in the last six, and will mix in a stolen base every now and then.
Wil Myers – OF – Padres – ESPN: 49% – Y! 43%
Wil Meyers is having an excellent season, when he plays, and that has been the issue. His injury plagued season has cost him a ton of time, but when on the field he is hitting .270 and has 67 RBI+R. Myers is a great plug and play in the outfield for the rest of the season.
Christian Yelich – OF – Marlins – ESPN: 56% – Y! 68%
Christian Yelich is red hot, hitting .351 in the month of September. Yelich is another injury plagued outfielder, but is finishing the season strong. I have seen Yelich float around in a few leagues of mine, and snatched him up for those replacing injured outfielders, cough Ryan Braun…
