Pitchers:
Ubaldo Jimenez – Orioles – SP – Y! 62% – ESPN 87%
Right now, Jimenez is holding opposing hitters from both sides of the plate to a sub .140 average. He has had 5+ strikeouts in three of four starts, the one start he was ejected in. He has two starts so far, where he allowed no earned runs through seven innings. He has a 26% strikeout rate, and a 67% ground ball rate. If he is out there, I am scooping him up. He shot up in ownership on ESPn over these last few days.
J.A. Happ – Mariners – SP – Y! 20% – ESPN 24%
Happ went another start since the last article, and continued to stay hot here in 2015. He struck out nine, and still has not allowed more than two runs in a start. I am looking to pick him up full time, or use him for spot starts right now.
Jesse Hahn – A’s – SP – Y! 38% – ESPN – 11%
I am a believer in Jesse Hahn, he has been decent this season, just not wowing anyone right now. He has a 0.95 WHIP through four starts, and a 2.86 ERA. He has a couple of tough losses, and no-decisions, he could easily have three wins right now.
Position Players:
Chris Young – Yankees – OF – Y! 31% – ESPN 57%
The Yankees essentially have a four man outfield, but Chris Young has worked himself in for more playing time with his play. He has five home runs this season, and is a big factor when the Yankees face left-handed pitching. I like him in deeper leagues, or AL only leagues.
Josh Reddick – A’s – OF – Y! 73% – ESPN 100%
Josh Reddick caught on this past week, over a 50% increase in adds around the fantasy world. I had him in the article last week, and he will stay here until he creeps up even higher. He is a guy who should be owned everywhere. He is hitting .368 this season, with 20 RBI. – Now he is unobtainable on ESPN, but 27% free on Yahoo
Josh Hamilton – Rangers – OF – Y! 33% – ESPN 11%
Josh Hamilton was reported taking live batting practice, and is set for rehab starts within the next week or two. He is DL eligible on ESPN, and I am stashing him there until he gets healthy. The guy has tremendous upside, and with him going back to Texas, that boosts his fantasy value big time.
