AL Waiver Wire 5-13-15

Pitchers:

Carlos Rodon – White Sox – SP – Y! 48% – ESPN 24%

Carlos Rodon was the third pick in the 2014 draft, and he is up proving his stuff here early. In his first start, he threw six innings, allowing two earned, while striking out eight. He has an above-average fastball, and a great slider. He will likely be shut down at some point this season, so he won’t be a guy to keep in the later months, but he will help get you there.

J.A. Happ – Mariners – SP – Y! 22% – ESPN 24%

Happ is still under a quarter owned in leagues on both sites, and outside of King Felix, he has been the far stabler of Seattle’s rotation. He has a 7.5 K/9, and is keeping his walks to a minimum. Only one blow up this season, but has pitched great otherwise.

Position Players:

Logan Forsythe – Rays – 1B, 2B – Y! 5% – ESPN 12%

Logan Forsythe is your typical Rays’ utility guy, he works his way around a few positions, and can help out in every area. He is hitting .303 this season with 3 HR, and 15 RBI. He hits all over in the order, and continues to produce wherever he is. AL waiver wire is a little dry, but his eligibility and recent production stand out.

Billy Burns – A’s – OF – Y! 3% – ESPN 2%

I was worried once Coco Crisp came back that Burns would be the one sent down, but he made the cut. He is better facing right-handed pitching, hitting .314 off them in 35 at-bats. He was a talked about prospect before the season, with his speed. He has stolen 50+ bases twice down in the minors, and if you are in need, he is a guy who can help out.

Austin Jackson – Mariners – OF – Y! 37% – ESPN 40%

When Austin Jackson hit the DL, he owned percentage plummeted, and now he is close to return. He is probably a week to ten days away, and an outfielder that should be owned. He had two home runs, and five stolen bases before the injury.
