Lieberthal, AJ, or Barrett

Postby bd3521 » Thu Mar 03, 2005 1:16 pm

Guys I could use some help. I need a catcher in the very last round. None seperates themselves from my perspective.

Here is their current spots in the batting order:
Batting 7th Lieberthal (PHI) and AJ Pierzynski (CHW)
Batting 8th Michael Barrett (CHC)

Scoring for Batting Categories
1B - Singles 1 point
2B - Doubles 2 points
3B - Triples 3 points
BB - Walks (Batters) 1 point
HR - Home Runs 4 points
R - Runs 1 point
RBI - Runs Batted In 1 point
SB - Stolen Bases 2 points

Lieberthal, then AJ, then Barrett.

I'd take Lieberthal over the others. I expect him to bounce back this year.

Go with AJ. He is moving to a great hitters park (the best last year for HRs, I think), so his power numbers (HR and RBI) should be up from last year. That combined with his constant .300 average puts him in my top 10 catchers.

Without crunching the numbers, I don't think you can go wrong with either of the three. I like Leiberthal personally.

Another Lieberthal vote. He put up pretty decent #'s despite being in Bowa's doghouse for stretches. I think he's a prime candidate to benefit from a new manager.
