Wood. He is the better K pitcher, and has the big edge because of nl. When 2 pitchers are close, i almost always take the nl guy.

That is one of the toughest comp.'s I have heard for ages. I would guess Wood, but he has been so damn inconsistent that it makes it so hard. If Halladay were on a better team then its a no brainer.

I'm going with Wood for this year. Halladay is bouncing back from missing a large part of last year, and I think Wood is going to fulfill his potential this year.

I think that with Wood, it has been a matter of maturity, and I intuitively feel that he, Zambrano, Prior are going to blow open the NL Central like the Cards did last year (if they solve their closer dilemma :-o )

Uggh, now the Cubsfan in me wants to say Wood! If he can ever put it all together he'll be awesome! (How many times has that been said before?)

That's about it. Do you want a less brilliant, more consistent pitcher (in the AL East, FWIW... 8-o ) or a guy who CAN get some of the best outings you will see all year...and some of the worst. Both have comparable injury risk. I have a hard time imagining either of them being 'the best player avaialble' at the time they are likely to go though. At least I'm not the ONLY Cubs' fan in our league...hee hee... :-D

Wood is at that mystical magical age of 27 ...
Wood will give you more K's
Plus he is a NL Picther.
Plus he doesn't have to face the Yankees and the Sox

I am taking Wood.

Very tough question...Wood should get more K's, just as many or more wins (mainly because of run support), and has to face weaker offenses - Halladay will have to repeatedly face the top two lineups in baseball. So, I think I'd probably rather have Wood. However, I think Wood will probably be gone by the end of Round 4, whereas Halladay might last into Round 5 or 6. So I'd rather have Wood, but I think I'm more likely to end up with Halladay on my team based on where they're going.

halladay though, as everyone as said, it's not exactly a route. ;-D
