I was just looking for some of you guys to fill me in on what position is easiest to pick up on the waiver wire during the season. Mainly, what positions will have good solid players on the wire or what posiitions develop sleepers. Im guessing pitching, but I'd like to hear some answers on it. Thanks

Obviously the outfield will develop a few sleepers since there are so many. But the most valuable free agents will be at the closer position.

Pitching is relatively easy, but the quality is usually pretty poor. Occassionally there are gems that crop up (Santana two years ago, Lowry was a good fill in for me last year).

I'd say Outfield is usually pretty easy for ww guys. Figure you have three OF per MLB team AND older guys share time late in the season with the young bucks so the young guys you can usually pick up.

If you have mixed positions (like Middle Infielder is 2nd base and SS) there is usually decent depth to pick up a coverage guy for these postions. I find myself getting one or two over the course of a season due to injuries and poor play.

If your not watching the waiver wire like a hawk till june you will miss most of the missed gems. By June there are few surprises that develop and it will be very hard to improve much after that. I am refering to a roto league with experienced owners.
