Put our 3 keepers as our first 3 picks, and start the draft in the
4th round. Works for auto or live.

Yes, that works too. But only if everyone has the same number of keepers. I prefer something more flexible, but beggars can't be choosers. Also, all it takes is for one person to screw up on his three keepers and it messes up the whole draft. As simple as it may seem, it would be awful to have this kind of mess up. Ever happen in your league?

thanks for the input.

We have to keep 3-- I think the key is a "seasoned" league. Who
knows if you screwed up in March-- I have Vlady, Santana as
no brainers--3rd pick between E Chavez, M Giles or J Pierre--
regardless of who I keep, no one could acuse me of screwing up,
depends on injuries, etc-- who knows.

No, I meant if you accidentally listed a player incorrectly on your pre-ranking of three players list. Example: Vlady, Santana, Rolen and Rolen wasn't on your team, or perhaps you only listed two players. I mean this wouldn't be too smart, but accidents do happen.

I like the KISS principle. I would just choose a set number of keepers and force everyone to keep the same number from year to year. Also, unless it's a league of inexperienced players it seems like a larger keeper number is better because it curbs those trade deadline deals that throw the league balance out of whack.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
