Players who broke your heart more than twice

Postby orange12 » Thu Feb 17, 2005 10:45 am

Every year, come draft day, I always seem to have a soft spot for a few players who I end up drafting too high. It seems like I just can't get over the false hope that this could be the year for some players. My biggest heart breaker is Kevin Brown, whom I've always considered to be one of the top three pitchers in the past decade. Yet for the past five years, its been a mix between decend eras and whips and dissappointing win totals not to mention the injuries. In the end he's never worth the round I took him in. To a lesser degree I've also been a sucker for Wade Miller and Brett Myers for the past few years. Anyone else have certain players you just have to draft too early?

Agreed on Contreras.

However, I'll add Alex Sanchez to the discussion. The guy has the potential but is about as healthy as a 85 year old grandma...not to mention the fact that his baserunning skills are terrible.

Charles Rogers burned me in football the past season. I know this isnt the football forum but I needed some closure.

My old OF of Juan Gonzales, Larry Walker, and Bernie Williams has finally completely worn out it's welcome.

However, the reason I felt the need to post was because of basketball, and Grant Hill ...

I drafted him and was burned! The next year, I drafted him and was burned! The next year, I drafted him, and while teased, I was eventually burned! BUT THE FOURTH TIME, HE STAYED!!! (So far)

More than twice? None. When I've been burned twice by one guy (Kearns, here) I stay away.

Last year's incendiaries: Mulder, BBoone.

I had that this year too. Not even one point before out for the season.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
