I don't believe it's too useful to take into account Tejada's BA from '97 - '99. Over the last three years Tejada has batted .308, .278, .311, respectively. Even if Tejada bats .280 he'll still be more valuable than Vlad. It has nothing to do with slighting Vlad. There is just more talent in that upper tier of OFers along with Vlad than there is in the upper tier of SSs. If you think Tejada is going to have a pre-2000 year then granted Vlad is more valuable but that just isn't going to happen IMO.
