No Brew for you!

Postby Ballwreckers » Fri Oct 22, 2004 10:51 am

Wow, I heard that Fenway is banning Beer for the WS. Is this true? I know they are riled up as it is, but I can't imagine sober Red Sox fans. The may need it if they lose.

I heard that they were either thinking of doing something with the bars in the area be it by limiting booze or not showing the bar scenes during the games.

I guarantee you that you will never see a ballpark ban beer from being distributed in their facilities. It's these little things called contracts, that will keep it from happening.

Signs don't matter, and while I can't be for certain, I'd have to say I'm 95% sure that each and every MLB ballpark has a contract with a beer company stating that they will sell the beers during their home games. There's no way around sellin beer at a ballpark, it's the biggest profit maker in ballpark concessions.

I agree that it won't go away. I'm just saying that they could easily replace a decent amount of the concession revenue with other products.
