They're still the step-child. Once they start winning the division, and when the Yankees don't have the highest payroll, they won't be the step-child.

You know what I mean. Let me put it this way.......They're still the step-child but not the red-headed one anymore.

Fair enough.

I don't think this will change much though. The Yankees will still be hated, and the Red Sox will be venerated. It'll take more than one season, no matter how magical, to change that. Of course the "lovable loser" perception won't be there anymore, but that's a given.
