I live in Seattle and there hasn't been any local talk about bringing Soriano up yet. The M's have Garcia, Moyer, and Pineiro pretty well set in the rotation, with Ryan Franklin and Gil Meche the 4 and 5 guys. They'll likely give Meche a long look in the rotation if they can, with Franklin a possibility to swing between starting and relieving (as he's done the last couple years). If anything happens to any of those guys, I'd expect Soriano to be the first guy up, but so far, there's nothing to say that will happen.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
