Because they are getting there asses stomped in damn near all hitting categories. Pitching is another thing. Here's my team...

10 Team Keeper- Keep 8 Hitters and 4 Pitchers

C- Vic Martinez
1B- Albert Pujols
2B- Mark Loretta
3B- Mark Teixeira
SS- Alex Rodriguez
CI- Ryan Freel
MI- Cesar Izturis
OF- Carlos Beltran
OF- Bobby Abreu
OF- Carlos Lee
Util- Randy Winn
Util- Larry Bigbie
B- Larry Walker
B- Carlos Guillen<----That hurt alot!!!

SP- Jason Schmidt
SP- Johan Santana
SP- Mark Prior
RP- Danys Baez
RP- Brad Lidge
P- Francisco Rodriguez
P- Danny Graves
P- Randy Johnson
B- Odalis Perez
B- Jason Marquis
B- Jaret Wright
B- Brad Radke

Here's how the scores sit so far:

Commish(Me)-
R~31; H~52; HR~7; RBI~28; SB~6; Avg.~.226
W~7; CG~0; SV~ 2; K's~69; ERA~1.58; WHIP~0.95

Manny/Beltre-4-MVP-
R~47;H~72;HR~13;RBI~38;SB~;1Avg.~302
W~4;CG~0;SV~7;K's~53;ERA~5.91;WHIP~1.36

This is killing me. This just goes to show that no matter what your team looks like(i.e. having almost 6 first rounders in a 12 team league!), you never know what will happen in H2H.

P.S. Here's his team:

C- Craig Wilson
1B- Jason Giambi
2B- Juan Uribe
3B- Melvin Mora
SS- Alex Gonzalez(3 HR's this week :-P )
CI- Casey Blake
MI- Jack Wilson
OF- Hideki Matsui
OF- JD Drew
OF- Vernon Wells
Util- David Ortiz
Util- Matt Lawton
B- Carlos Delgado
B- Aubrey Huff
DL: Jose Vidro
DL: Joe Mauer

SP: Bret Tomko
SP: John Garland
SP: Cory Lidle
RP: Mariano Rivera
RP: Jason Isringhausen
P: Dustin Hermanson
P: Jorge Julio
P: John Lackey
B: Jeff Suppan
B: Chris Carpenter
B: Noah Lowry
B: Russ Ortiz

Yup, I never lost a season series this year. I thought for sure the league was mine. If I had a better grasp on how to continualy win Roto leagues I'd play that instead. At least Albert Pujols is finally hitting again. Now if I can just get Abreu and Beltran too!!!

It's the one major downside to h2h...you can dominate all year, but have a down week in the playoffs. I'm losing badly in the final championship week, but it's but an interesting ride to get this far, something that I wouldn't have appreciated had it been roto.

That's why my HtH league doesn't do playoffs - granted, there are problems with that, too, but this way, whoever wins the most wins, and one bad week won't kill ya - after all, I was 6-24 after three weeks, and here I am on the last week in a three-way virtual tie for first. At the same time, though, whichever of the three best teams does the best this week (and whichever's opponent is worst) will decide the order of the money-winners. But still, it's an accumulation of the entire year, which I like.

Our H2H league did a pretty cool thing this year. We had a 19 week regular season, then quarter final and semi finals running simultaneously in weeks 20-22. leaving weeks 23-25 for a best of 3 between the remaining two teams. It eliminated the one week fluke deal! Sure enough, I made it to the championship (led the power rankings all year) and lost the first, but rebounded to win the last 2 for the title.

I wouldn't start Schmidt when the Giants play the Padres. The Padres have had his number all year, and I am expecting a blow out.

Good call it looks like so far after 2 innings.
