Not sure about that one. :-?

i may just do it.

I am quite positive that it works for all things (IP, games, etc.).

How does the save situation look? Since so many guys are maxed out and not moving in the pitching cats, can you sit some of your closers?

Unfortunately no. The guy who is 10th in wins is also 8 saves behind me with 5 closers. I am 9th on the wins list. :-o

I would do what you suggested. You should get a few more wins easily, just make sure you check opponents and then decisde who to start.

If, as you get closer to the limit, you see that you still are behind in wins, it may indeed be worth benching a couple of the closers to squeek in another start or two.

The problem with a string of starts on one day at the end of the season is that some pitchers will be benched to prepare for the playoffs or moved to pitch important games that get them in. Others will be held to a strict pitch count so they stay sharp, but get as much rest as possible. So this can can be quite tricky to do and shouldn;t be relied upon.

If you're planning out your strategy for the other categories, I'd pencil in a gain of three points in wins, not four. If you get more than that, consider it gravy. You'd hate to have your late-season plans stymied because you couldn't pick up that extra point in one of the most difficult categories to forecast.

Good luck! ;-D
