Too late now, but how do I set a keeper league up?

Postby gabenterprises » Sat Sep 11, 2004 1:16 am

I know this season is too late for my league to be a keeper league, right? But, in my two years of FBB, I've yet to participate in one. However, I'm a commish and next year would like to set that up. Will someone tell me what exactly it means and how you make it happen? Thanks!

Basically, you advertise it when you create your league and the members have to agree to be in the keeper league which obviously lasts more than one year. In addition, when you create your league and determine alll your league's settings, you have to decide or have your league vote on how many players you will keep after season #1. Every manager submits those lists of X players (X = #of keepers decided on) that they will keep and then you hold a draft of Y rounds (Y = # of roster positions - # of keepers) to fill the rest of your empty roster spots. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. ;-D

Why do you need yahoo groups?

Why do you need yahoo groups? And when I set up my league next year, one of the options will involve keepers in the yahoo free lague, and that's that?
Thanks so much. I figure 5 keepers per team. Is that average? And for how many years do they remain on your team?

By creating a yahoo group, you create a place where you discuss all the issues during the offseason. Also, it is a convenient to set up polls if your league needs to vote on something.

Currently, yahoo has no free keeper league formats that I know of.

If you are willing to pay, there are some sites that create keeper leagues for you, but someone else will have to tell you if it's worth it.

I just run a standard Yahoo league and do the easy bookkeeping myself.
