Do you think that he'll play SS next year? I've heard Matsui hasn't been as great defensively as they thought so he might move to 2B next year.

Jim Duquette or anybody for that matter hasn't approached Kaz with it yet but it will most likely happen.

I think it is very likely that Reyes will be the starting SS next year. You just can't justify leaving that much talent at 2B when Kaz is a sub-par defensive SS.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Nothing in his contract stipulates he must play SS. He does have a verbal agreement that he would play SS in '04 but nothing beyond that.

You ahave to put Reyes back at SS next season. SS and CF in my opinion should defense first positions. (meaning that a mediocre offensive but solid defensive player should get the not over the opposite).

I would send Kaz to second in a heartbeat next season.

i think if mets get out of the race, they will work with matsui on throwing more over the top and harder, especially on plays ranging left and right., then they will spilt all the time it spring training., and if matsui can't win it there., he will be a 2b., but he is still learning., and may come around, mets are doing the right things., they made 10 moves., only one bad one....kazmir, and who know....maybe kazmir is the next brien taylor., lol
