Will Figgins have a job next year?

Postby stumpak » Fri Jul 23, 2004 10:21 am

I am considering moving him in a keeper league. I like the kid, but am concerned that he will not have a place to play next year--Kennedy has his stuff together again, Soscia loves Eckstein, and they have the prospect whose name eludes me at 3B. I see a situation developing where he is getting spot starts all over the place and if first in line to start wherever injuries may, but really doesn't have an everyday job.

Thoughts?

I bet he starts the year as a utility player...but given Anaheim's age/proneness to injuries, he'll probably find a spot.

Anaheim will either resign Glaus, or call up McPherson I think.

Ordinarily I say there is no way they resign Glaus, but given the struggles they've had since he got injured, and how well he was playing before he did get injured...I'm sure they have been thinking more about it.
