Like it's his friggin choice! Have you ever hurt your achilles? Ya, I thought not. It hurts like hell, and seems like it never heals.

haha good point. really, I've hurt myself on the job slicing my hand open with a razor, I patched it up and finished the rest of the job through the pain. And that's for 20 bucks an hour. When the Bo Sox are behind as many games as they are, they need every bit of help they can get, definitely time for the leaders to step up. It's the least they can do to earn the rediculous amounts of money they make.

Why would he want to risk further injury and possibly screw himself out of a few million in the free agent market? It's not like they're going to catch the Yankees so as long as they stay in the wildcard race he shouldn't push his luck.

I'm not a Nomar fan but in his defense I screwed up my achillies just like he did 2 years ago and it's still not right. That injury sucks..takes a LONG time to heal right and it's always sore with overuse.

I also have had achilles problems from rugby... but I always played through it and I have to pay THEM to play, not the other way around ;-)

Probably not as bad as Nomar's problem, but still, it hurts like a bitch and makes it really hard to run.

I think that Nomar is one of the few Red Sox players that I like, and I understand why he sat out. If he really wanted to help his team, would he be out there risking a season ending injury just to prove he's a "tough guy?"

I wouldn't call the Red Sox wild card posistion all but solid, the way Texas has been playing and how Oakland plays in the 2nd half. I would laugh if Boston didn't make the playoffs this year!

Typical...a guy can't play due to injury...and he gets crap for it. However, if he chose to play and hurt it worse than before, he's an idiot for trying to play hurt.

I say, shut up and let the guy heel. I think he's only playing because he was getting crap for not playing. He really should be sitting out still and not starting every other game. If he was in a small city, where the fans aren't so stupid and the news doesn't get on your case every 5 minutes, I'm sure he never would have left the DL.
