Contreras! It's not too late!

The biggest knock on Contreras is that he's inconsistent. Slomo pointed out that this was not so! In his last 11 starts he has a 3.53 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP with a 7-1 record and solid K/9 ratios. That makes him the best Yankee starter during that timespan!

His next start is against Boston who he is TERRIBLE against, so after that start, his value will never be lower! Buy low!

Contreras has been great...but I'm still not brave enough to start him vs. Boston. Welcome to my bench Jose, you've burned me one too many times.

Now for everyone else: Feel free to start him, he knows I benched him so you can expect a perfect game and nothing less. ;-D

dont be so quick to jump on the contreras bandwagon. i still think he is just as likely to give up 7 earned as he is to pitch a good game, and i own him.

Yes I've had Contreras since early May when I pulled off my best trade of the year: I got Contreras and Lidge for a then hot Charles Johnson, a consistent Jacque Jones and a struggling but promising middleman in JC Romero.

I still enjoy thinking about because the other guy carries none of those 3 guys at this point in the season.

Anyway with proper spot starting Contreras has me 5 wins a 3.43 ERA and a 1.14 whip. I messed up starting him against the Mets the 2nd time around, because he generally gets hit harder when people see him twice.

What I'm trying to say is that with proper obvious sits... LIKE THE ONE COMING UP AGAINST THE BO SOX, Contreras has been just as or more effective than anyone on my pitching squad. I'll laugh all the way to the bank thank you very much. :-)

Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.
