MIGGY for MVP

Postby BenE25Bonds » Thu Jul 22, 2004 5:17 pm

i think he is a great candidate for AL MVP this season. he's simply tearing the cover off of the ball. he's finally not being punished by playing in the colliseum and is being rewarded by the friendly camden yards. what do you guys think?

He has great numbers, but where are the Orioles in the standings? Only A-Rod can be on such a crappy team and still get MVP.

I don't know about MVP but he is surely the toughest, most durable player in all of baseball.

All I can say is that I'm glad he's on my team :-) . Who does everyone think are the leading AL MVP candidates so far? I'd have to say either Vlad or Manny at this point, with probably Vlad having the upper hand.

Mora has played 20 less games and has still been just as valuable to the Orioles so far this year.

Uh, another Orioles SS -- Cal Ripken, Jr. -- won an MVP in 1991 while playing for an absolutely AWFUL O's team (they finished in last place in the AL East, 24 games back with a 67-95 record).

That said, these examples are the exception. I don't think Migs is gonna get it.

I doubt that Miggy winds up with the MVP. I'd say Vlad or Manny are the frontrunners right now.
