RJ prefers Yanks! Maybe Clemens too!

What statements? I don't get NESN and this is the first I've heard of it. Is it about the supposed closed-door meeting with RJ and Garagiola? Other than that I'm stumped.

They reported that the Sox have permission to talk to RJ - yet Selig has been out of the office this week, and said he has not granted any permission to anyone. Same thing about the wives...

just trying to stir up some conversation here - I know the NY rags are as credible as our president, but fun to speculate anyway!

(like the new avatar?)

Yeah rmeesig, that should prevent you from having to explain to everyone that you're NOT a Sox fan, good move.

I had to laugh everytime you had to explain yourself to someone ;-)

I just love that look on Pedro's face after giving up THE HIT...oh well...

just saw this:

Mike and Mike 1050 ESPN Radio had Peter Gammons on who was in tight on the Johnson situation and said Randy has "absolutely no interest in Boston" and it's a "50/50" shot he gets traded and has said the only two teams Randy would go to are New York Yankees and the Anaheim Angels. He said if the Yankees make a deal it would be Contreras (paid)and Navarro is the most likely package.

getting interesting!

to tell you the truth, i still think its overwhelmingly likely that he stays in arizona and doesnt get traded. If he does, im not sure that the yankees have more to offer than the angels...

That would suck to have Contreras' value plummet to nothing.

I dunno, I'm willing to bet Contreras shapes up in Zona. No pressure...

Yesterday I read th Daily News and saw that the Mets had won. Then I turned on SportsCenter just to make sure.

Daily News is a Yankee propaganda rag. You really think the Yankees can get RJ for Navarro and Contreras? You're crazy. :-D
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

yea, the sources are actually NY newspapers and tabloids. What do you expect? They aint gonna say randy hates the yanks and they most likely would say he wont go to boston. I still think the red sox are as big of contenders to get rj as NY and anaheim.

Yeah, and that's why 1996 was our favorite. It's alot more fun to go try to beat the Sox with Randy, than have us get Randy and blow everyone away.

There's just too many stories and "tips" going around for me. I'll believe RJ is traded when I see it with my own eyes or hear it with my own ears.

I will say this though, after the All-Star break, things should start to get somewhat clearer because Randy and Mrs. Johnson are going to be the most sought-after people in the park. They'll be treated like royalty by players and wives from the Yankees, Sox, Angels, etc.
