welp, you know, depending on how competitive the league is, its quite possible to get buried early, or just not do that good early, then look like absolute shite down the stretch.
i'm in an ultra-competitive league where nary a save goes by unclaimed and the such, and well.... i started off pathetically in offense, decent in pitching (save the wins category) and now even tho my team has played as well as anyone's (by my estimation) i'm perpetually in 7th-10th place, losing 2-3 points on days where i did pretty good.
my team isnt all that terrible either, tho when you look at the first position i list, catcher, yuo can see what i mean
c - posada
1b - frank thomas
2b - jerry hairston jr
ss - edgar renteria
3b - rob mackowiak
OF - vladimir guerrero*
OF - sammy sosa
OF - pat burrell
util/OF - corey patterson
bench/1b/OF - phil nevin
bench/2b/SS - tony womack
bench/OF - alex "drrrty" sanchez
SP* - carlos zambrano, roy oswalt, carl pavano, derek lowe, jake westbrook
RP - mariano rivera, danny kolb, chacon, julio
the * denotes that i traded mark prior, carlos lee, and oliver perez for vladimir guerrero, phil nevin, and jose reyes at the end of may, so i havent had a full season of vlad, still, he's basically put up .339/8/33/5 with 24 runs in that month i've had him, which is fine by me. prior has pitched well, but only has one win thus far, so i'm thinking i might have done OK, especially seeing as my offense is stagnant (like 2/3/3/8/5 respectively) when speaking euphemistically.
so yeah, i dont see any glaring holes in my team, but at the same time, i dont see me finishing higher than 8th when its sall sauid and done. thats because i suck, naturally.
