Should I drop Matt Anderson for:

Jose Jimenez
Jorge Julio
Does Buddy Groom have a chance to take Julio's job?
or
Franklyn German

If Matt Anderson gets traded to a contender (ie Boston), you'd be kicking yourself the rest of the way. Jiminez and Julio are the best that you mentioned but neither are as good as Anderson could be in a BoSox uni.

Have you read that Matt Anderson might get traded to a contender or are you just speculating yourself?

Id go with Jimenez. He had like 40 saves last year with Colorado and theyve gotten better this year.

both jimenez and julio are on sub-.500 teams. i believe julio has better stuff... both closers were rocked early on in the year, but i think both will provide you with 25-40 saves, depending on the usual intangibles.

I'd take either Jimenez or Julio over Anderson. Julio first because I think he is the better pitcher and there has been talk about Jimenez getting traded. There is no reason to hold onto Anderson for months, while Detroit racks up losses to see if he gets traded to a contender, when you can get a better closer right now.

Why would Boston trade for a closer that's virtually not closed at all in the bigs? They'd be better off handing the closing duties to one of their relievers now than to gamble with Anderson.

Fact is Anderson hasn't shown anything and German is nipping at his heels. Plus the Tigers will be lucky to win 40-50 this year. I'd take Jimenez and Julio over Anderson. I'd give a slight edge to Julio just for the sake that he's less likely to get rocked. However Jimenez will probably get more save ops.

I think there's big risk in waiting for anderson to get traded to a contender with no closer. More likely to get traded into a setup role.

Sub 500 teams often have more close games. Julio is a better bet than Jimenez in my mind but both should be better than Anderson.
