ok, this draft was done a minute ago, but 2/3 of my yahoo fantasy teams have started off pretty darn weak. i ask you purveyors of fantasy baseball acumen to provide me with some advice as to what kind of moves i should make to fortify this team for the stretch. personally, i think i'm holding too much offense and should either make a deal or a drop. :
(just traded raul ibanez/kelvim escobar for carlos beltran/roberto hernandez [dropped immediately])
(b) denotes bench player
c - jason la rue
1b - richie sexson / paul konerko (b) / mark bellhorn (b)
2b - luis castillo / mark bellhorn (b)
ss - jose valentin
3b - joe crede / mark bellhorn (b)
of - vladimir guerrero / manny ramirez / pat burrell / mike cameron (b)
util - carl crawford
DL - carlos beltran
pitching - sp - mark prior, randy wolf, tony armas jr, mark buehrle, runlevys hernandez, horacior amirez
rp - billy koch, jose mesa, rocky biddle
i tried to land woody williams by offering up konerko, but the guy countered back desiring me to give up luis castillo. i held off because i don't want to designate 2b as a bellhorn-exclusive position with no backup at this moment. hey, i'll shake up a team, but i'm not exactly ready to get that ballsy this early.
i think that i need to trade a bat for a starter or a bonafied third tier or higher closer (i.e. jose jimenez and up). what do you guys think?
thanks in advance
