This from Fanball.com ... I still think Oakland will go with The Duke rather than a CBC. We'll see.
After weeks of poor pitching and four blown saves in 12 chances, now comes news that A's closer Arthur Rhodes has been suffering recently from tenderness in his left elbow and that his availability has been limited. "When I warm up, it's fine," Rhodes told the Contra Costa Times. "It's just when I stop throwing that it hurts." The injury did not seem to be a concern for Rhodes or manager Ken Macha, who had the lefty warming in the ninth inning of Tim Hudson's 4-0 complete game on Saturday.
Isn't it ironic that every time a pitcher struggles—in Rhodes' case a 4.43 ERA, a 1.77 WHIP, two losses, and four blown saves—some sort of injury pops up? The Oakland bullpen has been a nightmare all season, and fantasy owners should avoid it going forward. It has all the makings of a committee from here on out. If Rhodes (eight saves) happens to notch a couple saves in a row, we recommend you sell him off as quickly as possible.
