the dude is hitting .270 w/ 8 HR's and pretty much hasn't been close to the level of his prime years. one thing i've noticed is that he's a less patient at the plate this year. another puzzling thing is his health... i have little idea about his health is or how much injury risk hes gonna be? you also gotta asume that his value will go down if (more like when) Beltran gets dealed. so what should with him ? any other info/updates even preojections etc. would be awesome... ;-D

Well, I think he's just in a slump. He was hot a few weeks ago, in which he hit like 4 homeruns in the course of 2 weeks or something like that. He's cold now but his numbers still aren't that bad. I think he'll turn it around if he stays healthy.

The good news is that the Royals have decided against using him in the OF during interleague play and are instead looking to move Harvey out there. That should reduce the chance of injury quite abit. I agree with Letter-Jumbleman that he will come around getting back somewhere in between the 2000 and 2001 numbers.

He´s having a good hr ratio and although his k/bb ratio is a little down from the past years its not too bad for me to say that he´s losing it. I have had in the past and he has done before exploding so im just gonna keep waiting

Injury prone guy on a bad team slumping to the .270's is not really a concern. If you expected something realistic like .300/25 HR/100 RBI out of sweeney he's right on pace, if you expected something more you probably just payed too much for him.

Had a HR off Schilling in the first tonight.

Sweeney is a great hitter but if you ever expect anything more that 35 HR's out of him that will be asking a little too much. More realistically is something like .315 23-30 HR's. 90-110 RBI's.

Yeah, those numbers seem to be exactly what to expect

i traded him preseason for Jose Guillen... and i would never expect more than 30 out of Sweeney... i'd be more than content with an above 300 BA, 25 dingers and around 100 rbi's and runs. just that i'd never had a chance to see him play this year and wanted to know how he was looking... jis ratios looked a lil wierd and injury's a big thing with me right now cos half my team's banged up !+) still thanks for the responses ;-D
