In the last 3 weekly matchups, I have dropped from tied for 4th place all the way to 10th place. I am now 18.5 games out of 1st place and 7.5 games out of the last playoff spot. As of yesterday's stats, I am losing this week's matchup 12-2. On team below me is inactive, and the other has made so many stupid trades that he is worse than inactive. There is an inactive team that is ahead of me in the standings by 2 games. As you can see, I am really frustrated. Here is my team:
(12 team H2H non-keeper League)
BATTERS: R, H, 2B, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP, SLG
2B: Jose Vidro
3B: Miguel Cabrera
Util: Victor Martinez
PITCHERS: W, CG, SHO, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB
SP: M Mussina
SP: Oliver Perez
P: F Cordero
BN: Beckett (DL)
The other owners in my league have seen how much I have dropped in the standings the last few weeks, and one in particular has been trying to take advantage of that fact to pry some underperforming players from my team. I actually had a trade all set with him that would have been in my favor (long term and short term) and his, but he backed out because Pujols had a 2 HR game. We have been trying to work something out since, and he keeps saying that the following is a good trade for me long-term and short-term:
I get Abreu, Thome
He gets Beltran, M Cabrera
I have held off for now, and just recently compared their combined stats to date. My current players actually beat his players 6-3. Am I right to not accept this trade? Or is it actually good for me?
Another question I have is about 2B. Vidro has been a disappointment, so I have had to find a replacement until he heats up a little. Utley was great for a couple weeks, but has cooled off considerably since. The best options I have are
Who should I go with to replace Utley until Vidro returns to form?
Since you have taken the time to read all this and respond in some depth, I will analyse your team in the same depth if you post a link.
Thanks a ton.
