How's this look?

Postby djhjf » Tue Apr 01, 2003 7:22 pm

I'm in a 10 team H2H league 5x5. 23 man roster 22 starters 1 bench. I've never done anything more than a 21 man roster with 16 starters so am a little unsure of this. Here's my team any suggestions?

C: Ivan Rodriguez
1B: Jason Giambi
2b: Luis Castillo
3b: Eric Chavez
SS: Rich Aurillia
LF: Brian Giles
CF: Randy Winn
RF: Cliff Floyd
OF: Hideki Matusi
OF: Karim Garcia
IF: Hee Seop Choi
IF: Frank Catalanotto
Util: Tim Salmon
Util: Dave Roberts

SP: Pedro Martinez
SP: Odalis Perez
SP: Kevin Milwood
SP: Brad Radke
SP: Russ Ortiz
SP: Johan Santana (bench)
RP: Matt Mantei
RP: Jorge Julio
RP: Braden Looper

There isn't much promising in the free agency pool. Hoping I may get a piece of Baldelli or Teixiera when they get listed. My only other sleeper option is Lyle Overbay. Who should I drop for him? I think my best bet is to leave as is, maybe flux Frank Cat in and out on hot players. I think a 6th SP will be more valuable than an extra hitter since it's H2H. Any ideas?

I agree with the previous post about your closer situation, but then most people are having some problems in that category. Your hitters are phenomenal. If you are looking for stray guys, millar was avail in my league, and the rest of the guys i play against are tough. You've got some speed in castillo, winn and roberts, but you could mmaybe upgrade there, and the giambi and giles are your only real power, so that oculd be an issue. But for the most part your team adn your drafting were impressive, well done. atwa26

A couple moves later here's my roster

Postby djhjf » Sun Apr 06, 2003 9:30 am

C Ivan Rodriguez
1b Jason Giambi
2b Luis Castillo
3b Eric Chavez
SS Aurilia
OF Floyd
OF Winn
OF Giles
OF Matsui
OF Juan Gonzalez *
Util Karim Garcia
Util Dave Roberts
IF Hee Seop Choi
IF Frank Catalanotto
Bench Tim Salmon

SP K. Milwood
SP O. Perez
SP P. Martinez
RP M. Mantei
RP J. Jorge
P. Russ Ortiz (SP)
P. Braden Looper (RP)
P. Brad Radke (SP)
P. Tim Worrell (temp)

I picked up Rocco Baldelli (was real hyped in my draft though I know I didn't need him I had 9th pick outta 10 teams and had made 0 moves so I grabbed him up off waivers. Got Juan Gonzalez for him, what a steal, especially since I need the power not the speed. Now what I want to do is trade Floyd or Winn for a solid closer and maybe a decent infielder if somone bites.
