If this deal were done for the sake of the Braves fan, it sucked! I've never liked Drew from the begining of his career demanding so much money and not willing to play in Phil. And he's been nothing but an absoluted disappointment since because he cant stay healthy. Braves gave away a soild 5th starter and one of the top pitching prospects out there to get a guy for ONE year. Plus they took Marrero who was just a salary dump for Stl. Makes no sense at all to me. As a fan it doesnt matter if Drew has a good year. Braves werent looking at the big picture when they made this deal I dont believe.
Marrero is a FA after this year as well. Cards didn't think they could keep either of them. Drew wants a boatload of money and Marrero wants more playing time. Plus you forgot the Cards also got Ray King.
