Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Jason Bay was activated from the 15-day disabled list and is expected to be in the lineup for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bay has yet to play a game this season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn right labrum. He was bothered by a pinching sensation in the shoulder just prior to the end of the 2003 campaign and tests later disclosed a tear.
The 25-year-old Bay was acquired by Pittsburgh in the August trade that sent outfielder Brian Giles to San Diego. In 27 games for the Pirates last year, he batted .291 with three homers and 12 RBI.
