My Starting 5

I think a have a pretty solid rotation for a 14 team both leagues league. The pitching stats for my league are wins, holds, era, whip,k's,saves. My rotation is as follows. Kerry Wood,Mike Hampton,Kenny Rogers,Elmer Dessens, and Brett Tomko. Please let me know if I should try and swing a deal or stay where i am.

Kerry Wood is the only thing you have going for you. Maybe Hampton if he can regain some old form. I've thought Rogers has been done for some time now.

2002 37 TEX AL 13 wins 8 losses 33 Games 2 Complete Games 210.7 Innings Pitched 212 Hits 90 Runs 21 HR 70 BB 107 SO 3.84 ERA

Quite possibly his best season since 1998.

And then there's these two:

2002 31 CIN NL 7 wins 8 losses 30 games 0 complete games 178.0 IP 173 hits 60 runs 24 HR 49 BB 93 SO 3.03 ERA

2002 29 SDP NL 10 wins 10 losses 32 Games 3 Complete games 204.3 IP 212 hits 102 Runs 31 HR 60 BB 126 SO 4.49 ERA

I'm not sure you can expect better from either of these two so I think you need some help. I hope you have some good hitting to trade because you need to pick up at least one gun. I am biased for pitching on fantasy baseball. My best teams have been pitching heavy. That is why I tell you this. :-B

I don't think you have a very solid rotation. It has the potential to be one ina year or two though, but it's quite risky.
The odds of the AL MVP coming from the American League are looking pretty good.

I'm not sure it even has potential in a year - Hampton, Tomko, Rogers, and Dessens are all (IMO) on the wrong side of the stat trend bell curve (that being the downslope).

Wood is solid. Make some deals. Remember, it's not your current roster that matters, it's what it COULD be. Trade Dessens, Hampton and Tomko - they all have been "hyped" enough to maybe package then for something better.

Good luck ...
