Durham placed on disabled list

San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - The San Francisco Giants on Wednesday placed second baseman Ray Durham on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee injury.

Durham strained his left patellar tendon during San Francisco's 12-3 loss to Atlanta on Tuesday night. He was removed from the game after grounding into a double play in the seventh inning.

The 32-year-old Durham had a brace on his left knee while holding crutches in his hand after the game. He also needed the help of a a motorized cart while leaving SBC Park.

Durham is hitting .284 with two homers and six RBI this season.

To fill his place on the roster, San Francisco purchased the contract of infielder Brian Dallimore from Triple-A Fresno.

San Francisco also transferred relief pitcher Robb Nen to the 60-day disabled list with a shoulder injury.
