Miller, Willis, and Acevedo...

Postby Eli » Sun Apr 25, 2004 7:12 am

All three are starting today and all three are on my roster... Should I give them the green light?

I can't take another L at this time, so I need sure things.... I was burnt last night by Seattles lack of run support for Garcia and need to start being a little more choosey on my starts...

Here are the matchups..

Miller vs Kennedy (COL)
Willis vs Thomson (ATL)
Acevedo vs Perez (PIT)

Willis -- Yes
Acevedo -- Yes
Miller -- No

a) Willis is off to a great start.
b) I'm starting Acevedo against weaker teams til he gives me a reason not to.
c) It's still Coors Field and Miller's not quite elite enough for that not to matter to me (I did start Clemens yesterday though). And in 2 starts at Coors, Miller is 1-1 with a 5.11 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 8 Ks.

Incidentally, that Pirates rainout earlier screwed me as now I have Perez (Fri start pushed back to Sun) pitching against Acevedo today. Oh well. Hoping for a 1-0 game. Good luck.

I say Willis for sure and then the other two are sort of toss-ups. I agree, though, that Acevedo is more of a sure bet for a win than is Miller.
