Dropping Contreras for Mitre is borderline insane.
Not meaning to be an A-hole with this, but considering how easy it is to access tons of info on virtually any player, why not do a little research on a guy you aren't familiar with before making a move such as this?
Okay, Contreras has shaky numbers through two starts. The first outing was okay till he came apart in the middle innings, then he got lit up at Fenway, a place where lots of good pitchers get trashed on occasion. Big deal. The guy looked great this spring, and is off a season in which he goes 7-2, 3.30, averages more than one K per IP and has a 1.15 WHIP.
How anyone can possibly drop Contreras for a kid who comes into this season with a 23-23 record at A and AA is astounding.
