Only 4 players in ML history have had 3 basehits in a single inning (my data for this only goes through 1999, but I don't believe it's been done since then anyway). One of them was George Stevens of the Boston Red Sox, in 1953. The other 3 all played for the same team and achieved the feat in the same inning of the same game.
I know somewhere in the back of my mind this one is lurking. I the lopsided score category the white sox beat the pants off of someone (in the late 50's-early 60's?) with 28 or 29 runs with a bunch coming in one inning.
Yeah, Zoob is right on this one. The Chicago White Stockings who were not the White Sox, but the Cubs, pulled the feat off in 1883. Since then, the Cubs as a team have only gotten 3 basehits in the same inning like once or twice.
