NO ONE probably... i already said this in the "Predictions" forum earlier this year. two reasons- pitching has improved vastly in the past few years- just look at the number of good young pitchers and second, possibly reduced steroid use :-D (even tho im still not fully convinced by MLB's testing policies) the only guy who'de truly be a lock for 50 would be a guy named BaRRY from SF.... but with great hitters like Edgardo Alfonso and Marquis Grissom backing him up, i really don't see him getting too many pitches... next is Pujols but im not sure that he'll concentrate on power that much (and rightly so imo).... but if any of the 45 HR guys like Thome and Sexson get really hot down the stretch, its a possibility...

another point that people sometimes miss is that hitting 50 isn't actually as easy as it seems... its only in the past few years that hitters have been regularly coming close to 50 each year

Adam Dunn and Soriano IMO are too streaky to hit 50-HR this early in their career een tho they definately have the potential...

and Travis Hafner :-o - yup write him up for 74 dingers this year :-D
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
