I took the first player in each of the following bets:

Best out of 7 using the following categories: BA/HR/RBI/R/SB/OBP/TB
Eric Hosmer vs Buster Posey
Mike Moustakas vs Hector Olivera
Matt Kemp vs Hanley Ramirez

Best out of 5 using the following 5 categories: QS/W/ERA/WHIP/K
Francisco Liriano vs Shelby Miller

Which players are you going with in these 4 bets?

Absolutely Buster Posey
Moustakas no question, I don't care for Olivera
Matt Kemp, but they both will stinks
Liriano, better ballpark.

Hosmer over the catcher
Olivera is a question mark- but I don't trust moose
Kemp - Hanley has to get hurt doesn't he
Liriano - Miller in that ballpark hahahahahahaha

Mike Moustakas vs Hector Olivera
Moustakas - easily for me.

Eric Hosmer vs Buster Posey
I will take the catcher here. I never been a hosmer guy. he's too blah. just a boring little solid guy who will do ok in every category - but not great in any category.

Matt Kemp vs Hanley Ramirez
I want hanley in this one. You can't tell me kemp is the model of health. hanley - better park, better player, all he has to do is stay healthy and he destroys kemps numbers.
BUT - on a serious note - this is not the type of bet I would make - thats like burning money - if both players stayed healthy get equal number of at bats, i think hanley wins - but both are huge question marks to me.

I feel that the perception of Hosmer is off.

Everywhere I turn I hear people say, "he does everything well, but nothing great."

I beg to differ.

Let's take a look at the 2015 stats of all A.L. hitters.

Hosmer finished top 10 (give or take) in BA, RBI, R, & OBP.

Only 7 hitters had more than 98 R.
Only 9 hitters had a better than .297 BA.
Only 10 hitters had a higher than .363 OBP.
Only 11 hitters drove in more than 93 RBI.

He's entering his prime & could have his best season in 2016.

I know there's no scientific formula for a stat increase but let's just take lucky number 7.

If Hosmer is able to increase his 2015 numbers by just 7 across the board, it will easily put him in the class of elite 1B's for 2017.

.304ba - 25hr - 100rbi - 105r - .370obp
