Dodgers' Plans for Corey Seager?

Postby The Loveable Losers » Fri Jan 22, 2016 11:36 am

I hadn't seen anything yet but should we be expecting the Kris Bryant treatment here - keep him down to manage service time - or do the Dodgers plan on rolling with him starting on Opening Day?

I would assume he start the year with the Dodgers, the reason they traded for Rollins last year was to give Seager another year of development with the intention of him taking over in 2016. With how he played in September and with the Dodgers not having a suitable guy to play at SS, (Turner could play there, but they don't really have a 3B then.) I fully expect him to start on Opening Day

Figured as much...explains the lack of news items on something that's pretty much a foregone conclusion. Sucks for my fantasy team as he won't be eligible to be kept as a franchise player so I'll have to burn one of my 6 big league keeper slots on him for 2017 but at least I'll get his production right away.

It will be interesting to see where Dave Roberts slots him in the lineup. Donnie had him batting 3rd during the postseason. Roster Resource currently projects him to bat 2nd.
