5/11 Cheering, Venting, & Pineda & Salazar

Michael Pineda and Danny Salazar look like the two best pitchers in baseball while Kluber, Kershaw, Strasburg, et al continue to look pedestrian. Oh, how I love fantasy baseball (I own neither Pineda or Salazar anywhere, naturally).

Pineda is my #1 starter in a 12-team yahoo auction league that I decided to go max spending on hitting and all $1 pitchers. Somehow that team's pitching hasn't sucked...I went all high-k potential guys, loaded up on guys on teams with decent to good offenses, made sure I got all the crappy closers I could scrounge, and I've ridden that to 41.5 points from my pitchers (only 4 and 5 in era/whip respectively but the rest of the stats are top-3). Made it fun to draft a hitting team with that much money - McCann, AGon, Altuve, Bryant, Tulo, Trout, Harper, Gregory Polanco, Joc Pederson, Chris Davis, Yasiel Puig, and Melky Cabrera have been stomping the league in all the hitting categories but steals where the team is 4th.

My lock of the day isn't much of a stretch but I'm feeling like an easy win today after picking the Harvey defeat over the weekend...Gerrit Cole makes the Phillies lineup look silly and cruises through 7+ to an easy victory. Book it now, get in on the action with Jarred Cosart, this is a lock from the guy with a 7-16-4 record. That's a better average than pretty much everyone on the Phillies. :)

Was Scherzer's start pushed up from tomorrow to today? Could've sworn when I was prepping for my week, he was listed as Tuesday's starter, and now I'm seeing the little 'PP' next to his name that indicates he's starting today, along with the obvious listing in the first post. Am I making up that he was supposed to start tomorrow? :-?

With pitchers like King Felix and Pineda, I am crushing my opponents every week, 2.08 ERA last week, let's hope Pineda stays healthy cause he's a beast.

Big Fat Bartolo trumps all. he would strike out 16 batters if he wanted to. he just doesn't want to do that much work.

Gardner might be the most likable Yankee of all-time.

Took the easy one today to get to 8-16-4. Too bad my hitters couldn't do enough in FanDuel to cash me with Cole putting up his 15. :-t
