Whatever Alfredo Simon has been sipping on, I'll take a double! Seriously, this guy has been unhittable for three starts now, and despite paltry K totals (minus his 7 Yankees last night), he looks very good. Is this a case of small sample size, and regression to the steaming pile of suck he's generally been, with few exceptions, for the past 7 years (really he hasn't been that bad, but his K/9 is a Roto killer)? Here is an article from December, entitled 'Alfredo Simon Will Be Better Than You Think', which was enough for me to grab him speculatively in one league...

Starts worth keeping an eye on today highlighted in blue. Can Morrow keep up his early season success in Coors? Carrasco making his first start since getting drilled in the face. Travis Wood, smoke and mirrors, or potential back end 2015 fantasy starter? If he continues today, his ownership will skyrocket. Will the real Drew Pomeranz please stand up? Can Brett Anderson go deep enough into games to be QS relevant? Will Colin McHugh continue to be possibly the most underrated fantasy starter in all of fantasy baseball? Will Taijuan Walker continue to pitch like the evil twin of the guy who was hyped to the moon all Spring?

I'm feeling it now...3-7-3 on my picks but it was just rust from the offseason. Here's my pick for the day:

Kyle Lobstein gets BOMBED. I mean, come on man, LOB is in his last name. It's like being named Bob Walk or Homer Bailey (although wouldn't it have been outstanding if Bob's mom had named him Homer instead...Homer Walk would be the most epic MLB pitcher name in history!). Furthermore, it's a lefty against the Yankees. Teixeira still hits lefties despite being a barren wasteland of suck against right-handed pitching now, and ARod is on fire. I wouldn't take this as an opportunity to start Eovaldi though as that Tigers lineup scares the crap out of me. Just play all the hitters and take the over on the runs scored (whatever it is). :)

This is the same 2 catcher NL Only team that I paid $11 for Yadier & $17 for Lucroy 's broken toe that forced me to roster the piece of schizzel Garza. :-P

Rodon crapped the bed in his debut. Thanks for killing my era and whip.

You can't get this kind of analysis anywhere else folks. Lobstein was great with the results (not so much on the k/bb ratio though) giving up only 1 run in 6 innings. Luckily for anyone that started Yankees they managed to make their hay against the Detroit bullpen. 3-8-3 now. :-b
