Today's fearless prediction: the Marlins beat up Eric Stults and put a huge day up - at least 4 runs through the first 4 innings - with Stanton going yard. I'm 1-5-1 so far on being correct, so start Stults with confidence. ;)

He's turning into the baseball version of Mike Shanahan here. "Oh, you thought you knew who was carrying the ball for us...just kidding!"

All I want is for John Axford to get the next Save. So, so badly. Just to see the reactions.

I am terribly disappointed Stanton didn't homer against Stults.

Stults was a great matchup for that entire lineup. Dee Gordon doesn't care as long as he gets on base. Ichiro has a career reverse platoon split. The rest of the lineup was a bunch of righties with some pop in the options. Stults actually made it 5 and only gave up 4 runs which, while bad, wasn't as bad as it should have been. Meanwhile, it was the bottom of the order that did most the damage, not the middle of the order. The 3-6 hitters were a combined 1-14 with the only hit coming on Morse's home run. I didn't invest there in the middle in daily but the 1-3 guys were almost as bad a choice with only Dee Gordon actually producing.

Oh man, Stanton only gave up 4 runs? Thats pretty good for an outfielder pitching :-b

With as bad as I've been at picking locks this year it's little surprise I have mistakes in my posts too. !+)

We're calling today a push too. Stults made it to the 5th before giving up his 3rd and 4th runs. Technically I was wrong but he just made it in on the spirit of the prediction so we're going to call it 1-5-2 now. Those picking against me today weren't killed by doing so - they just didn't profit as much as they expected. Also, I've learned to stop picking against Haren and Harang so there's that. ;)
