Very Unconventional Draft Route in 12 Team 3 Keep H2H

Postby MtyMeekins » Thu Apr 09, 2015 12:30 pm

I joined a 12 team H2H 3 player keeper league last year and finished miserably in 11th place. I ended up trading away some good players for an extra 2nd round and 5th round pick during the trade deadline last year.
I took a very different and wild draft strategy.

Here is the roster I finished the draft with.

Hitters:
Catchers- S. Perez & W. Ramos
1st Base- B. Belt & J. Morneau
2nd Base- B. Phillips
3rd Base- D. Freese (Rendon on DL)
SS- J. Rollins & J. Iglesias
Outfielders- B. Hamilton, S. Choo, Y. Puig, W. Myers and C. Granderson

This is where it gets a little crazy...
Pitchers:
G. Holland
C. Kimbrel
T. Rosenthal
K. Jansen (DL)
J. Grilli
D. Price
M. Harvey
G. Gonzalez
S. Miller
T. Bauer
J. Hammel
M. Cain (DL)

Yes, 5 Closers. All with probably the best K/IP ratios, as well as on good teams with the exception of Grilli.
I know I am extremely weak in the hitting department but I'd like some guidance on potential trade routes.
WHIR! (also my 3 keepers were D. Price, Y. Puig, and A. Rendon).

Sit tight for now - I'd wait for an upper tier good buy low bat on a team that is need of a closer and move Grilli or Rosenthal after Jansen returns to active duty.

Somebody is going to realize that having 1 closer isn't going to get him to the promised land and will move a good bat to remedy the situation, keep an eye on that/those teams.

Yup closers are always a hot commodity, you should be able to move any of your choice to add some offense. Rosenthal will get you a bigger name, but try and ship Grilli.

so far this week I am winning 8-2. My pitching has been flawless. But I'm certain that I'll need a bigger bat in my lineup and don't wanna fall too far behind before I do.
