H2H drafting strategy

Postby holiemacaroni » Fri Apr 03, 2015 1:19 pm

Hey,

So I joined a H2H 5X5 ESPN standard 10 team fantasy baseball league. We had the draft this week two of the teams loaded up on RP each of their teams only have two starting pitchers. Basically they are going for SV, ERA, and WHIP. They giving up on the other two scoring categories in pitching. It is a shitty way to draft a team but this can't be the first time this happened and a strategy to negate this.

What is the best way to counter this way of winning H2H?

Any help or advice would be great thanks..

Is there not a minimum weekly amount for innings pitched?

I'm guessing not, that's why I hate joining anonymous leagues. They probably used their first 8 or so draft picks on offense so you can't really compete with them there.

All you can do..(assuming no min weekly innings) is start your best 2 or SP twice that week and bench your more marginal pitchers, giving you a shot at winning ERA and WHIP and hope for the best on offense.

Thanks! for the help and the reply. There are no weekly min innings. I think what you said is the best plan going forward.

the best plan is to play your best players. You drafted to compete with every team every week - they drafted using a gimmick strategy.

U still start your best players - you need to win the wins category and the Strikeout category to have a chance - and hope your offense can beat theirs.
