When the sheep doesn't lose by a touchdown?

This was less about the Germans and more about the Brazilians crumbling when facing a skilled disciplined team. The Germans are peaking at the right time. Going to be a terrific finals with the Netherlands. Will be funny to see Robben and Mueller shaking hands before the start of the game only to fall down holding their knees.

The steal give and go was nice but this was my favourite.
A couple of Brazilians actually looked awake for this one.

Oddly enough, the first thought that came to mind during that game was Paxman v Swain from The Thick of It.

Messi might have something to say about a Germany v Netherlands final. :-b

Brazil remind me of a glorified England these days. They have few players who retain the ball and aside from Neymar, they don't have the usual flair players Brazil have been traditionally blessed with. Their heads dropped after that second goal and they gave so much space, let alone to give the ball away so carelessly. It's a crazy world we live in when David Luiz is the world's most expensive defender. (Paris St Germain paid 50 million pounds to Chelsea for his services. :-b)

Credit to Germany though. They've looked much better with a usual three-man midfield of Kroos, Khedira, and Schweinsteiger and two forwards up front in Mueller and Klose. Also, well done to Klose for passing Ronaldo's all-time World Cup goal scoring record. However, Mueller is on pace to surpass Klose's record one day.

Here's the front page of the Dutch daily newspaper de Telegraaf this morning. It's got Louis van Gaal doing a little number on Messi:
