team / trade advice

Postby riolay » Tue Jun 03, 2014 5:10 pm

Hello. I really need to know if I made a good decision or not. My lineup was as follows:
1B Victor Martinez
2B Brian Dozier
3B Todd Frazier
SS Jhonny peralta
C Joe Mauer
OF yasiel Puig
OF Mike Trout
OF Melky Cabrerra
DL Ryan Zimmerman
DL Mark Trumbo
SP Verlander
SP Cueto
SP Weaver
SP Buehrle
SP Lackey
RP Keuchel
RP Grilli
RP Betances

I recently offered Mike Trout and Jhonny Peralta for Jose Bautista and Ian Desmond. It was accepted. Was this a good or bad move? I know that the players that I'm getting are doing better this year, but I still am worried about losing Mike Trout. Any input? And any advice on how to better my team?

I think that you got the good side of that deal even though you lost the best player in the trade. Bautista is definitely a downgrade from Trout but as long as he stays health and continues to hit like he is then he will be great. Desmond is a huge upgrade on Peralta and as long as he stays healthy you made a good deal.

To really give decent advice, it would be nice to know more info about the league such as number of teams, categories used, keeper or non keeper, or dynasty, etc. That said, here are a few thoughts i have!

If this is any kind of keeper league, I don't think that i would have made that deal. Trout is 11 years younger than Bautista. That said, if it's not a keeper league, I think an argument can be made that this move made your team better.

Does your league count saves as a stat category? You're very weak if it is. Starting pitching is decent, but if i was you, I would sell high on Buehrie. His stats are way better than he is a player and i don't think that the numbers are sustainable. Find a Jays fan who loves the guy, and see what you can get in return.

Hope that helps! and here's a link if you would like to help me! Thanks!
