Re-Posting this here, before the Cafe inexplicably shuts down for 40 hours:

I have these two guys on two separate teams, and I was mulling it over this morning... Who would you rather have the rest of the season at C? Pre-Season highly touted Carlos Santana, or Miguel Montero, who is the #1 C so far in 2014 in some formats?

I have Montero on my cafe team, and I'd more than likely accept an offer for Santana. If I had both I'd be starting Montero for the short term though.

I'm all in with Colby Lewis this week. Two starts against sub par offenses, I picked him up everywhere. He's looked a lot better than his stats show.

Can I just sell low on Votto? I'm not a believer. What if I could get Hosmer for him?

Really depressing. I don't own him in any of my leagues that matter but I'm still sad by this. :-t

Ditto...Miami as a dark horse to hit a wild card spot would have made an awesome baseball story. But without Jose, there goes that chance.

I had a gut feeling that something was going to happen to Jose Fernandez.

So don't take Starting pitching in the first 2 rounds, still valid? :~(

I think the strategy is to avoid starters until they have 'survived' 2-3 full seasons w/o any arm injuries. Off the top of my head all of the TJ's this season have been youngsters that only had 1-2 healthy pro seasons under their belt. It seems that the risk significantly declines once a player has 3-5 200 inning seasons. it almost makes elite starting pitching veterans more valuable.

I certainly don't regret taking Darvish (2nd), Scherzer (4th) and Lester (10th?) since I lost Medlen and Parker and have been starting waiver pickups for over half of my staff in the N00bs league.
