Myers for Gray (WHIR)

Postby SpartyTigers » Sat May 10, 2014 11:59 pm

I receive: Wil Myers
I lose: Sonny Gray
My team started off slow, going 1-3, but I won last week and will win this week. I'm very interested in Myers but Gray has been great so far. I would also like more batting depth since my bench is filled with DL players but I don't want to give up too much. I probably also will test the market for Gray and see if anyone else is interested but Myers is very appealing. Let me know what you think and leave a link so I can help you back. Also I completely forgot to respond to those who helped with my last post (http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=468486) so if you helped me then, please leave another link I can help with.

I think your rotation could handle the loss of Gray, but before you do that is there any chance that he would take Heyward for Myers? That may be a longshot as the consensus is he is over rated. However it might not hurt to just send that offer and see what he says, low ball him a little, maybe he bites , maybe he doesnt, but then if and when he declines send him Gray and he will see you are stepping it up a notch and may grab him. I think I would rather have Myers here even though your OF is not that bad, but he could replace Heyward. IMO at least, hope it helps

Sounds like fair deal... I'd give edge to Myers.

If you could deal Heyward with Lackey, I'd be more thrilled.

If the other manager is wise, you are making a mutually benefitting deal.

I would rather do Lackey + Heyward for Myers. It makes more sense.

Thanks for all the help. I offered him Heyward and Lackey for Myers but he declined. He did have mild interest in Heyward but none in Lackey and wants to move an outfielder.
