So on a scale of really bad to ridiculously bad, how bad is this trade that was made in my league a couple days ago:

Pence, Wainwright, Perkins for Myers, Liriano, Jim Johnson, Kyle Kendrick.

Basically what I thought. It looks relatively even if you remove Wainwright and Liriano from the deal.

Although from what I can tell they put a ton of stock into this year's numbers. For example, M-Cab is an 8.5 and nobody thinks trading him straight up for Wainwright would be a good deal.

This one is still awful though.

That trade is pretty awful.

A LOLer just went down in one of my keeper leagues too.
Team in last place had the best regular season record last year and with Trout, Goldy, Cargo, Lee, Sale, Bum, Cole as his core everyone expected im to crush this year too. Guess he panicked.

8th place team sends: Brandon Phillips + Matt Cain + meaningless draft pick
12th place team sends: Cargo + meaningless draft pick

Awesome advanced fielding metrics article on THT written by the man behind UZR.

I remember this topic specifically was discussed a while back, and nobody seemed to know 100% for sure what the answer is. But now right from the horse's mouth:
Currently, UZR completely ignores batted balls that are affected by a shift.

Going over my rosters and trying to figure out who the biggest non DL disappointment has been so far...Fielder, Butler, Phillips, Hosmer, Hardy. Carlos Santana is at least showing some signs of life now. Then I looked at my NL only league and Pablo Sandoval has been so bad I've replaced him in the lineup with Casey McGehee and I've been really happy about.

Panda was dropped outright in my league, by an owner who also has Longo. I burned my #1 Priority on him, hoping he wakes up and remembers he's a good hitter. I've been using Plouffe as a stop-gap while Zimm has been out, and while he's been surprisingly excellent, I have to imagine it's short-term.
